Safari Park Roar and Snore: For The Grown Ups Too
Growing up in San Diego, I was partly raised (jointly) thanks to the San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, and-at the time-the Wild Animal Park. Cut to today: the Wild Animal Park is now named the Safari Park, and has undergone a huge renovation. Remember that monorail tram that chased the outskirts of the wild animal reserve? Gone! But fear not, for it has been replaced with a more efficient tram with better views. Among other improvements large and small, visiting the Safari Park was bringing back memories!
A couple times a year, they host a “Roar and Snore” for adults. You get to “stay up late” with the animals, take a night tour, roam behind the scenes, experience private animal showings, and wake up to a magnificent view (and in our case the barking of elephants and roar of a lion). Instead of spoiling it all, check it out and bring a loved one: http://sdzsafaripark.org/safaritickets/roar_snore-adults_only.html.
